Lucille was the daughter of Margaret Rosentreter Rice and Andrew Rice. Tragically, both parents died within a year of one another. Margaret died on July 4, 1916; Andrew died the following April 7. Their three children, Lucille, Harold, and Coletta Agnes, were raised by Kate and John Kreuz (Kate was the sister of Margaret). This photo of Margaret was taken in 1906. This was a postcard; the date was stamped on the back of it.
This portrait of Margaret was probably taken in the very early 1900's. Margaret is buried in St. Alphonsus Cemetary, in Lemont, Illinois.
This photo of Andrew was taken in 1914. Not much is known about Andrew. According to his death certificate, Andrew was a switchman for the railroads. His father was James Rice, born in Pennsylvannia.
